PBSC PRESENTERS

Don Bisson, FMS, is a Marist Brother who has Masters Degrees in Liturgy, Spirituality, and Transpersonal Psychology and a Doctor of Ministry in the area of Spiritual Direction and Jungian Psychology. Along with giving retreats, Don trains spiritual directors and supervisors.

Paula D’Arcy has an M.Ed. in Counseling and has ministered as a counselor, consultant, psychotherapist, writer, public speaker, retreat leader, playwright, actor, and adjunct faculty member at the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, TX. In 2005 Paula was keynote speaker for the Scott & White Bereavement Conference, aiding families in loss.

Maria DeMonte, OP, M.Div., was the Coordinator for Specialized Retreats at the Dominican Retreat House in Elkins Park, PA. Previously, she was involved in adult faith formation on the parish and diocesan levels.

Barbara Fiand, SNDdeN, teaches spirituality at the Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola University, and at Catholic Theological Union, in Chicago. She lectures and gives retreats throughout the country and abroad on issues related to holistic spirituality, personal prayer, religious life, feminine spirituality, transformation of consciousness, and the psychology and spirituality of human maturation.

Barry Fischer, CPPS, upon completion of philosophical studies, ministered in Chile where he pursued his theological studies at the Catholic University in Santiago. Barry was ordained in Chile in 1973. He served as General Councilor before being elected as Moderator General 1995-2007. He currently lives in Salzburg, Austria where he is Director of the newly-founded International Center of Precious Blood Spirituality.

Jack Flynn, OSA, is an Augustinian priest who works as the Province Secretary in Villanova, PA. Father has taught scripture and world religions on the university level and worked in parish and diocesan ministry. He received his master’s degreee in Counseling at Rollins College and his doctorate in ministry at Drew University.

Carol Houghton received her Doctorate in Sacred Theology and Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical University in Rome. She presently serves as Chancellor and Tribunal Judge in the Diocese of Harrisburg and is adjunct professor of Canon Law at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD.

Rev. Francis Karwacki, V.F. M.Ed., M. Div. is the Dean of the Northumberland Deanery. He is pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Mt. Carmel, PA and is the Diocesan Liaison for Charismatic Renewal.

Therese Anne Kiefer, ASC, has a background in theology, religious education, and pastoral studies. Therese Anne has most recently been director of ongoing formation for the Adorers and has a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Aquinas Institute in St. Louis.

Jack Kolodziej, OSFS, was ordained an Oblate of St. Francis De Sales in 1999 after completing theological studies at Washington Theological Union. He served as campus minister, completed a degree in Gerontological Studies at St. Joseph University, and is presently serving at Father Judge High School in Philadelphia

Maria Regina Loures, IHM, (Scranton) ministered as teacher, principal, and Educational Consultant in several schools and served on its Leadership Team for eight years. Maria Regina served as Co-Vicar for religious in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY and is currently a member of the retreat team at the Bishop Molloy Passionist Retreat House in Jamaica, NY.

Marion Lynch, OSU, an Ursuline Sister, studied Spiritual Direction at Washington Theological Union in Washington DC, and at the Center for Spirituality and Justice in New York. She has been involved in giving on-going spiritual direction and retreats.

Mary Kevin Rooney, ASC, was a team member: in formation ministry, in the Office of Worship in Oklahoma City, in the ASC international mission among the Muslims in Tunisia, and in the ASC Center of Spirituality in Rome. She presently ministers as a spiritual director in Wichita, Kansas.

Janet Rowley, ASC, is Director of PBSC. She has a Master’s degree in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University and is a certified chaplain. Her previous ministries include chaplaincy and director of pastoral care as well as service on the leadership team of the US Region of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ.

Constance Sophy, RSM, is a Sister of Mercy. She has ministered in education and in formation for the Sisters of Mercy. She attended Washington Theological Union where she studied Spirituality with an emphasis on Spiritual Direction.
